Harebeck Holidays offers a choice of self catering holiday accommodation located in Gosforth in the Western Lake District. Both Harebeck Cottage and the Glamping Units are located at Thornbank which is a traditional working farm overlooking the Wasdale fells, including Scafell Pike and Great Gable.
Harebeck Cottage

A traditional Cumbrian farmhouse located on a working farm, surrounded by open countryside, and with far-reaching views of the western fells including Scafell Pike, the Screes and Great Gable. The cottage in parts dates back to the 1700s and is full of character including the original slate floor in the living room, the warmth from the Aga stove, through to the feature fireplace. The cottage is accessed by a single track lonning and is attached to the owner’s home.
Our Working Farm
Thornbank is a traditional working farm, owned and managed by Brian and Cathryn, Cumbrians born and bred (true Cumberland folk). have an affinity with the fells and surrounding area. They have knowledge of smugglers coves and hidden beaches with folk lore passed down through the generations. Like all local people they are proud, friendly, resilient and optimistic leading a quieter life with placid cows, cosy cats and curious tenacious sheep.

Stunning Location
Perfectly situated on the west coast of Cumbria, families can explore nearby Muncaster Castle and the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and fell walkers have just a short drive to England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike at the far end of the Wasdale Valley. The open stretches of Seascale beach are perfect for young, old and dogs too! Golf, horse riding and numerous excellent restaurants are all nearby, and our owner is happy to arrange for locally sourced meat, dairy and veg hampers to be ready for you on arrival.
