Race Side Cottage - Wellington, Gosforth, Lake District

Race Side Cottage

Two bedroom self catering holiday home located in the western Lake District

A traditional Lakeland cottage with a cosy multi-fuel burner in the living room, a well-equipped kitchen and space for a couple, small family or for contractors accommodation.

Perfect for two, or a small family of three, wanting to escape to this popular part of the Western Lake District. Race Side is a warm and welcoming end-terraced cottage and takes its name from an old mill race that runs nearby.

The living room is comfortable and perfect after a long day of walking out on the fells, cosy up in front of the multi-fuel burner and plan the next day’s adventures. A kitchen/dining room has everything you need for both a delicious cooked breakfast to a hearty evening meal, but with some great pubs serving home cooked meals nearby, you could be easily tempted away. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a double and small single, for a child. You are assured a good night’s rest and you can wake up and revive and refresh in the adjacent bathroom. A small seating area can be found to the rear of the property, ideal for a morning coffee and to take in the fresh air of surrounding countryside. A tour of the owners’ nearby dairy and sheep farm can be arranged, and a vegetable hamper, breakfast pack or barbecue pack of meat can also be ordered and delivered to the property. The bakery in the village sells freshly baked bread, pies, cakes etc, which are perfect for a picnic either on the beach or nearby Wasdale Lake.
