Romany Retreat, Glamping, Gosforth, Lake District

Romany Retreats

Sleeps 2 adults and 2 small children

Our Romany Retreat consists of Two Bowtop Caravans each given a Romany name. They are accessed via decking and can be booked either together or separately as they both have private seating areas giving marvellous views over the Wasdale and Eskdale fells.

This is the only area where campfires can be lit. A tripod and cooking utensils allow cooking in the traditional Romany way over an open wood fire surrounded by seating where tales can be related whilst perusing the wonderful views and enjoying our dark skies setting.

Each Bowtop has electricity and is provided with lighting, a heater, a kettle, a toaster and a small mini fridge. Bedding and towels for the double bed are stored in a plastic box ready to use. Underneath this pull out bed is a small cupboard bed only suitable for two small children. There is no bedding supplied for this bed.

Extra storage is outside in a water tight plastic trunk where footwear, coats and other items can be kept. A fridge and freezer for guests to use can be found in our drying room (Please label your food with your name before placing it here- labels are provided)

Each Vardo is given a bag of wood, paper and kindling to light a fire. Should extra be required this can be purchased on site. Please do not cut down any trees in the surrounding area to use. Our wood is dry and lights easily.

Kezia is the most decorative of our Bowtops and is recommended for you if you are taller as it is slightly wider than kezia This is the nearest van to the roadway.

Rosella is for you if you love cows as there is fluffy cow print material on the ceiling, Rosella also has a small pull out table inside

Sorry but due to size constraints there are no dogs allowed in these units. In future we may have runs outside that can be booked for your canine friend to stay.
